Hiroshima Motomachi Aquarium AQUA ALIVE MUSEUM
FY2025 Hiroshima Prefecture
Hiroshima Motomachi Aquarium, which opened in Hiroshima Prefecture, is an aquarium with the exhibition concept of "A Museum of Water and Life," which conveys the strength and fragility of life through the underwater world and the activities of living creatures. The aquarium is made up of eight stages (scenes), each with a different message, inviting visitors into the story of life.

The introduction is based on the motif of "the beginning of life," with images projected onto a space surrounded by mirrors, creating a fantastical depiction of the birth and spread of life. Each corner expresses the changing of seasons and time, and the breathing of living creatures, through lighting, scents, and graphics that envelop the space.
The epilogue features the "Extinction Clock," which explores the theme of extinction and evolution of "life." Through a production that combines sculpture, video, graphics, and lighting, it quietly raises questions about the transience of life and our responsibility to connect to the future.
