Kochikame Memorial Museum
Tokyo
The Kochikame Memorial Museum is a tourist center for the Kameari area run by Katsushika Ward, based on the manga Kochikame.
Our company was responsible for everything from the facility concept to planning, designing, and constructing the exhibits and content. In addition, the scope of work went beyond the facility itself, including planning, designing, and constructing measures to encourage people to circulate around Kameari Station and planning promotional measures for the facility's opening. Two teams, the CIC (Content Integration Center), a specialized team with extensive knowledge of IP content*, and the public works facilities team, with know-how in local government tourist base facilities and urban development, leveraged their respective strengths to create the project.

Based on the concept that "the protagonist builds a facility on his own and then runs away to the town of Kameari!", the architecture resembles stacked panels of a manga, the interior is filled with famous scenes, and the spatial design exudes the worldview of the work, creating a sense of the protagonists' real existence and providing an immersive spatial experience for visitors. By experiencing a consistent spatial story from entrance to exit, visitors are following the escaped protagonist, and we worked to create a mechanism that encourages visitors to explore the town from the museum, rather than being limited to the facility itself. This also contributes to the promotion of shopping districts in Katsushika Ward and the Kameari area, as well as revitalizing the local area.
