Nice to meet you, I'm Miyahara from CIC.

I have a strong interest in what humans see and feel, so when I was a student I majored in ergonomics and sensory engineering.

Since joining Nomura Co., Ltd., I have been planning spatial experiences based on digital content and directing the production of content. I think that we go out to various spaces to play, eat, go shopping, etc., but do you have a favorite space? And can you explain in words why you like that space?

I have a lot of favorite spaces, but I can't clearly express them all in words. (For example, I would like to meet someone who can say, "I like this space because the color temperature and illuminance of the lighting, the material of the walls, and the saturation of the entire space are numerically approximate values! lol)

In other words, although people have likes and dislikes, I think they usually make their judgments based on "somehow" without any clear reasons or factors that they recognize. A space that somehow feels calming, a space that somehow feels comfortable, a space that somehow feels bright, a space that somehow feels like you like it.

I've always thought it would be so interesting if I could understand that "somehow" that people feel. It may be difficult to put into words, but I'm sure that "somehow" is something that many people have in common, and if we can find that commonality, we might be able to create a space that everyone can "somehow like"!

When I was a student, I did an experiment where I showed subjects several different patterns of spaces created in 3D for an instant and asked them to judge whether they liked or disliked them, and the majority of people answered that they liked the same spaces and disliked the same spaces. If we could conduct this experiment with more people in the actual spaces created by Nomura, and if we could find common ground for "somehow liking," I think we would be able to create spaces that people will "somehow like" with solid evidence!

There are so many elements that make up a space, so it will be a long journey, but I want to understand what it means to "just like it" while I'm still alive. Miyahara's ambitions are still continuing...!
